In this update we will talk about construction-road_for-Stehr-House-in-Highland-Twp-Michigan. We started the writeup of this ICF house on Aug-12-2006. Our last update for foundation-excavation_for-Stehr-House-in-Highland-Twp-Michigan was on Aug-31-2006.

The area for the access road had been cleared of the trees and the shrubs and was made ready to receive the crushed concrete base for stability. Crushed concrete arrived the morning of Sep-01-2006 and in a short time thanks to Dan and Charlie, we have a good stable construction road.

Dave and Charlie worked all day on the driveway to the house and fine tuning the excavation for the monolithic basement slab.

Oh boy, it wasn't until past 6:30 or so in the evening before we called it a day to get ready for the Labor day Holiday weekend.


A good shot of the East end of the excavation -- with part of the hillock have been mowed down. The First floor of the house will be pretty much at the top of the hill and the entire front of the house will be a walk-out at the foot of the hill. The construction road as depicted in Pictures 4 and 5 is to the West of the excavation. ... Picture 1
