The trusses in this house spanned over the Garage and the Family Room. During renovation, the trusses at the interface of the Garage and the Family Room were cut to raise the height of the Family Room at one end.

At cut point the trusses were supported by a stud wall. The cut portion of the trusses over the Family Room were replaced with rafters supported at the stud wall at the interface of Garage and Family Room at one end and an exterior stud wall on the other end.

My inspection revealed that the cut trusses and the rafters were properly supported and the integrity of the structural system was well maintained. The work was done by people experienced in this type of work.

I present here some pictures that I took during my inspection. Some pictures show the structural support work and a few show the views of the house in general.
