Rebuild Fire Damaged House in Washington Township Michigan
In response to a request from the home-owner, subsequent to several discussions and project site meetings, I have
submitted the following for the home-owner's reference:
Because of extensive fire damage to the house, the home-owner is planning to rebuild the house on the same lot. The fire damaged house is too close to the major road in front of the house according to current Building Department rules.
setback requirements:
Front: from center of major road in front is 110 ft
Side: from Property Line is 30 ft
So the new house will have to be located North of the existing fire damaged house.
The new location of the house will require:
- moving around 5 Electric Poles
- cutting down about 3 large trees
- possibly building new Septic Tank and Field
- possibly drilling a new Well
- possibly a new Survey and Topo of the property
Additionally there may be other requirements, such as Building Department regulations, Township ordnances, and so forth that would also needed to be complied with.
It is my understanding that the Building Department's review of the plans of your new house will take nominally six weeks.
During my Field Visits, I had taken a few pictures -- I present those here as picture slides for your reference.
