In the Footing-for-New-Face-Brick-Ramez-Rasho-and-Senan-Sesi-Party-Store-on-Wick-Road-in-Taylor-Michigan post of Jan-20-2007, I had mentioned that the store will get a new brick facade on a new trench footing.

The footing for the new face brick is a nominally 12" wide and 42" deep below finished grade. The concrete has been placed (poured) in the footing as well as the entrance ramp at the front door.

It is cold here in Southeastern Michigan -- it is around 20 degrees Fahrenheit during the the day. So the top of the footing and the entrance ramp have been covered with straw to prevent the concrete from freezing.

The brick layer has the bricks stacked up. The sand pile for the mortar is there. The sand pile has been covered with tarpauline. The brick layer is getting ready to set up the scaffolding in the next few days.
