It is a beautiful little house on a large piece of land with a pond in the back. The home owners want an egress window added in the unfinished basement of the house.

The basement walls are 10" thick cast-in-place -- I mean poured concrete as stated more popularly. There is a nominally 6 feet wide wood deck that wraps around the part of the house on the South and West sides.

The proposed egress window is to be added on the West side of the house. With the woo deck at the First Floor extending 6 feet out from the house, the egress window well will have to bring one exiting out to the sunshine from under the deck -- a pretty interesting scenario.

I met with the home-owners Gary and Elizabeth Baron and inspected the exterior and the interior of the house. The home-owners already have pulled the Building Permit to do the work. I was called in to look at the structural integrity issues.

I have presented here some pictures of the existing house that I took during my initial visit. I will keep you posted with progress pictures as we go along.
